Mental Health Awareness Day Seminar”
The world health organisation defines
health as “State of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing and not
merely the absence of Disease and infirmity. That means there is no health
without mental health. Every year World health Day is celebrated on 10th
October.
This year theme was set by SMHA- Mental health Right of Young Persons.
With this perspective, the SMHA(State Mental Health Authority) planned the
Mental Health Day 2019 to organise the seminar on October 10, 2019. The seminar
was held at India International Centre, Max Muller Marg from 10am-5pm.
Prominent Psychologist Professor Mehtab Khanam was there as a guest
speaker.
The main objective of the speaker was to create awareness on
mental health, explained the significance of mental health care in a family and
discussed about the prevention of severe mental health issues.
An Interactive conversation was held between the audience
where professor Mehtab khanam discussed about mental health care and stigma
related to it and the importance of family bond to prevent serious mental
health issues. She also focused on the significance of the women empowerment
and how to prevent from the mental health challenges.
It was a great opportunity to enlighten yourself regarding
the psychological issues. The seminar was free for all as to there was no
registration fee was required. It was a great opportunity that my team and
myself attended the seminar so that we can spread awareness about the mental
health.
