How Technology is Wrapping your Memory?

Take a moment and think are u able to memorize someone’s phone number. Technology changes the way we live in our daily lives, the way we learn, and the way we use our faculties of attention and the research suggested that it may have harmful effect on our memories.

The implications of poor working memory on our brain functioning and overall intelligence are difficult to estimate.

Here are the five things you should know as to how your technology is Wrapping your memory:

1.     Information overload makes it harder to retain information: Every single session of internet usage can make it more difficult to file away information in your memory.
2.     The internet is becoming the brain’s external hard drive: Research found that we know that digital device will remember the piece of information for us, we are less likely to remember it ourselves.

3.     Distraction becomes more difficult to form memories: Attention is the key to form memories so that the movie you texted and tweeted your way through last night? You will not memorize many of the thing which were in the movie when your friend asks you few days later.

4.     Information overload causes us to lose sight of the big picture (and then the small picture): Internet has a greater effect on our sense of meaning than we imagine. Technology has a tendency to show the isolated pieces of information without fitting them into a broader cognitive schema.

5.     Millennials memories are Rapidly Degenerating: So-called "senior moments" are becoming increasingly common among younger people, recent data found, and it's thought to be due, at least in part, to excessive reliance on technology. A 2013 Trending Machine national poll found that millennials (aged 18-34) are more likely than those over the age of 55 to forget what day it is (15 percent vs. 7 percent) and where they put their keys (14 percent vs. 8 percent). Rising stress levels (which may also have something to do with constant connectivity) could be a factor as well.
Stress often leads to forgetfulness, depression and poor judgment.

How does Parent’s Technology use affects children?

Technology means work and other outside pressures cannot be neglected at home. These boundaries may make it difficult to present with kids.

It is no secret left that technology has become the constant presence in nearly year of lives-unless and until you take out printout you are writing on a screen. A recent study showed that gaining a deeper insights into trends results in how parent’s technology affect their children. The study found that parent’s face a challenge in leaving their work behind at the office where smart phones easily allows access to projects and email at anytime and anywhere.

Parental technology has a negative impact on children. Aside from interrupting meal times the effect on whatever has viewed on device transferred from one parent to child. If a work email bearing bad news was read the interaction between the child and parent would be negative. Children in turn were more likely to act out of attention when a parent is absorbed in device.

Technology has transformed the parents use digital media around their children. Not only it provides a distraction for the parent after a long day work or caretaking, but parents also engages technological means to entertain the child in public as well as in home.

In modern era, presenting a daily challenge for parents who balance work with child rarely. What takes the most priority? With parents in stressed and children in need of their attention, it is clear that to choose quality time over screen time while challenging is better for everyone.

Is technology creating a family divide?
Hey guys I am here with my new blog named Do you really think technology is creating a family divide? Let us read to know more clearly.

Nowadays, the impact of popular culture and technology on children’s relationships more noticeable in families. Both influences have made the divide between the traditional roles that children and their parents play while at the same time, blurring those same lines between parents and children.
The divide has grown due to the increased due to technology among the children in several ways. First, children’s interest in technology from, texting to playing video games, does by their nature limit their availability to communicate with their parents. One study founded that when the working parent arrived home after work his or his children was so leaned in technology that the parent was greeted only 30 percent of his time and was totally ignored 50 percent of the time.
Another study reported that family time was not affected when technology was used for school but did hurt for family communications when it is used for social reasons. Interestingly it been stated that children who spent more time on networking sites indicated that they feel less supported by their parents. Secondly, as digital immigrant’s people struggled to gain more proficiency and comfort with new technology that their native digital technology has become more popular. The divergence in competence in such an important area of children’s lives makes it more difficult for parents to assume the role of teachers and guide in their use of technology. In previous generation if children want to be in touch with their friend they had to call on home phone which should be answered by their parent. Thus, parents have the role that they act as a gatekeeper of their children social lives. Time has changed. Of course children see this technology divide see between themselves and their parents. Parents in turn see it a loss of connection to their children, inability to maintain reasonable oversight and the health of children lives.
There is a little doubt that technology is affecting the family relationship in day to day life. Because of the emergence of mobile phone these things are not limited to home but rather than occur in cars, restaurants, or anywhere else where there is a mobile signal.
